Westcoast Rig & Sail is a rigging company servicing Stavanger and the surrounding areas. Oliver Machell is running the business, a mobile rigging service based mostly from his service car. Westcoast also recently acquired a workshop, with a deep-water service dock located at Hundvåg. They hold a large stock of Kingfisher yacht ropes, which can be spliced to your preference. Westcoast can produce standing rigging wires up to 8mm in diameter, using they’re stock of Blue Wave wire and terminals. Larger wire diameters can also be delivered but are produced by their supplier with fast delivery time. They have Facnor furling systems in stock which can be built in the workshop and mounted straight onboard at the service dock a few meters from the workshop. Stocking a large variety of rigging parts and hardware, they can take care of all your rigging needs.

Kite and wingfoil
Alongside the rigging service they also offer sale of new sails, kitesurfing & wingfoiling equipment, yacht management and sailing courses. Oliver has run many sailing courses over his sailing career and can offer private tuition onboard your own boat.

Backgroud and Experience
Oliver is a commercially endorsed Yachtmaster, having worked as a professional skipper and crew on private yachts around the world on and off for the last 10 years. He has sailed over 60 000 nautical miles, including 5 Atlantic crossings as well as crossing the Pacific and Indian Ocean. With his extensive ocean sailing experience, Oliver has the knowledge on how to setup a boat correctly for ocean sailing and can offer useful expertise in this sector. He moved from England to Norway 6 years ago and begun working in the rigging and sailmaking industry, building up his knowledge working for various companies as a rigger. Firstly, With Marine and then running the rigging department at Nautic Charter in Bergen before setting up his own business in Stavanger. Alongside running Westcoast Rig & Sail, Oliver still works as a professional skipper managing a Nautor Swan 48. When Oliver is not hanging in the mast, you will most likely find him somewhere along the coast of Jæren kitesurfing or surfing.
